So, Why a Walrus?
Well! When I was growing up I’d have my breakfast each morning as a young boy in a very special bowl! This bowl had an illustration in the center and high sides that had the words “The time has come,” the Walrus said, “To talk of many things:”
I’m not sure what it was about this particular bowl, but I just loved it! As I got older I began to look more into its story. This bowl all started with a Poem written by Lewis Carroll called ‘The Walrus and The Carpenter’ which was from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872.
The Walrus and The Carpenter Poem is very special for me and when thought about, it would always take me back to a very happy time in my life when growing up. You can read this poem in full by clicking here.
For the love of all things Walrus, It inspired me to create a limited edition print which would rekindle those memories whilst reflect both characters from the poem.
